Hapi's first pilot program was at the Harvest Glen apartment community in Rialto, California, led by Hapi's California Director
Dr. Precious Taylor.
Highlights of the Hapi offerings:
- No-cost after-school program for 20-30 children, with a curriculum that included health, nutrition, and fitness education.
- Community garden installation on the property, maintained by children from the after-school program and residents.
- Fitness classes for children and families.
- Cooking classes for children and families.
- Special events for families, including movie nights and on-site health clinics from CVS.
